Create an engaging video about climate adaptation in your international water management project. This is your chance to compete for the NWB Award 2024. The winner will receive a prize of €5000 for the winning project, a publication and eternal glory on the Wall of Fame at the office of Dutch Water Authorities in The Hague.
Highlighting International Work
Once again, the NWB Award will be presented this year: the NWB Fund’s prize for the most compelling video on international water management work. After all, water authorities are doing important work not just in the Netherlands, but worldwide. The NWB Award shines a spotlight on this global effort.
Annual Theme
In 2024, the focus is on ‘climate adaptation’, the theme championed by the NWB Fund and a common thread in international water management projects. The NWB Award has now become a tradition. The prize was first awarded in 2022, with the theme ‘Proud of Water’. The winning video featured the fight against water hyacinth in Blesbokspruit, by Blue Deal South Africa. The 2023 theme was ‘Smart Collaboration with Stakeholders’, with Blue Deal Peru winning for a video about improving water supply for rice farming.
A Story That Sticks
This year, a panel of experts will once again select a shortlist from all entries. The jury will focus primarily on whether the video tells a compelling story that sticks with the viewer and is easy to share. In addition, it should convey a meaningful and engaging message about climate adaptation. The videos should be made by amateurs and can be up to 2 minutes long—no professional productions allowed. However, some professional assistance, such as with editing, is permitted.
And the Winner Is…
The award ceremony will take place during the closing event of the KIWI programme on 18th October at water authority Rivierenland in Tiel. All water authority employees and international partners can cast their vote in advance via the digital voting system, which will account for half of the total votes. The audience at the KIWI event will cast the remaining half of the votes. The combination of these results will determine the winner, just like the Eurovision Song Contest.
